Horn Collection Coffee Table
Code: 2602008Product detailed description
Model 08/21 low coffee table designed in 1971 by German designer Peter Ghyczy for Horn Collection. Ghyczy is best known for designing the legendary Garden Egg chair, which you can also find in our collection.
The West German furniture brand Horn Collection became famous in the 1960s and 1970s for producing avant-garde and futuristic furniture in the Space Age style. The design reflected the fascination with space exploration in the 1970s. Furniture from the Horn Collection typically features rounded, aerodynamic, and "fluid" shapes. It looks as if it were cast from a single piece and completely lacks classic sharp corners, screws, or visible joints. The company was one of the pioneers in the use of Baydur® rigid polyurethane foam, which is also used in this table in a black lacquered finish. It is a high-quality, very hard, and durable lightweight "plastic."
The table has a rectangular shape and a flat top with a slightly raised edge that prevents objects from sliding off. It is in very good original condition with wear commensurate with its age. One of the corners is slightly scuffed.
