Koželka and Kropáček Armchair
Code: 2604017Product detailed description
Armchair designed in 1944 by Antonín Kropáček and Karel Koželka for České umělecké dílny. It was subsequently plentifully produced by the state-owned enterprise Interiér Praha. A matching table was also designed, and the entire collection was awarded a silver medal at the Milan Triennale two years later.
The armchair’s frame is made of beech with an oak-effect finish, complemented by a webbed seat. The design features elegantly rounded armrests. The condition is consistent with the piece’s age, with a defect in the form of a frayed strap and a surface that is scuffed in places. Otherwise, the frame is well-preserved, though slightly wobbly. The armchair is missing its original upholstery.
